Man do we have the snow...

Well the snow has finally fallen here in the Pacific Northwest. lol I know it seems weird to say that living in Washington we don't get a lot of snow and honestly we don't. The mountains tend to get all the snow. We usually see just a couple inches a year here. Well mother nature has surely decided to let it snow here. LOL Not just a couple inches either. It started snowing about 1am Wednesday here and as of early this morning we have received 23" inches of snow here in our little town. School has been closed since Wednesday morning and they have already closed school for tomorrow also. So the kids have started their Christmas break a bit early. LOL It has been snowing all day and it's still coming down. It's suppose to stop later tonight and then more snow starting late Saturday. LOL

With us not use to getting a lot of snow here the roads are just awful. We have not seen a plow yet. Here is a photo of what our cul-da-sac looks like

People have been driving there 4 wheelers in the cul-de-sac and having a blast sliding.. lol We have had NO MAIL since Tuesday.... lol The kids are hoping Grandma's boxes will make it for Christmas. hehe

Here is a look at my back porch. I think this will show ya how much snow we have. LOL It has been untouched except for the kids putting the yard stick in to see how much snow has fallen. The last measurement was at noon at the yard stick said 26 inches.

Here is Isaiah standing up behind his wall of snow getting ready for a snow ball fight. LOL

I have to say it is pretty and I really did wish for a White Christmas so I am enjoying it and enjoying the kids being home and hubby not having to go to work. lol We are staying safe and the kids are glad I went grocery shopping before the bad weather started. The power keeps going off and Last night around 9:30 our power went out again and we all slept in the living room where the fire place is so we could all stay warm. The kids loved it and we played games via candle light. hehe

The snow is suppose to stop late tonight and more snow is suppose to start late on Saturday. hehe

Well I should get this posted before the power pops off again. LOL Thank goodness for candles and oil lamps. hehe

Have a great weekend.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Well it's not snowing here but the tree is up and I turned the fire place on tonight for the first time since last winter. I was reading when I got an idea. If you know me well you know I love to put kits together. I love a good kit as much as the next person but I really really enjoy putting them together with some amazing vintage finds. So I went down to my scrap room and started pulling out all my Christmas Vintage items an some new things I found at the Vintage shop down the road. After about 30 min or so I had put together a mini kit.

I would love to know what you think of my mini "Vintage Christmas" kit so with that being said. Leave me a comment from now until this Friday at midnight and I will draw one lucky person to win this kit.

This kit is full of Vintage items that date back to the 1920's. The textile fabric strips that are in this kit is from a vintage sample book. I cut them down to 6x1 inch strips which will be perfect for Christmas Cards and any layout.

Here’s what’s included in this your kit:
  • 4 6x6 pattern papers from Melissa Frances
  • 2 Vintage Office Telegram sheets (1940's)
  • 1 vintage ledger paper(dated 1923 from a barber's ledger)
  • 2 vintage receipt (from 2 different receipt books)
  • 6 vintage buttons
  • 1 vintage Christmas card front (card will be different in each kit)
  • 3 vintage Christmas Coasters
  • 4 vintage 6x1 fabric textile strips
  • 1 12" vintage cream lace
  • 1 12" vintage cream and red ribbon
  • 1 12" ornament ribbon
  • 1 Victorian shoe paper embellishment
  • 3 cream and green flower embellishments
You can find this kit in my Etsy shop with more photos of the kit. I will be putting up a few samples with this kit tomorrow after I get photos. I have a lot of photos of projects to take and there is suppose to be NO rain tomorrow.

Thanks in advance.

Happy Thanksgiving...

I wanted to take a moment to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. I hope your day was blessed and full of great family times and good food. We had a fun day playing games with the kids watched a couple movies and cooked and cooked. Today I am thankful for my husband, kids, family and friends, I am thankful that we have a roof over our heads and everyone is healthy for the most part. What are you thankful for?

With December only a few more days away I wanted to show a couple little peeks of some projects I have been working on with the December Dixie Pieces kit.

It's a rainy Tuesday...

It's a rainy Tuesday here in Washington or at least where I am. lol As promised here is a layout and a couple cards that I did over the weekend with the December kits at The Scrapping Spot.

The first one was done with the December Harmonie kit. We change our Christmas tree ornaments every year and I love to document our tree each year. I really love this kit. The papers are great for those "Traditional" pages.

Here are two cards that were done with the December Prudence kit. I just love the colors and all the extras in this kit.
One great thing about these kits is they work really well together. So you can mix and match all the goodies etc.

I hope your weather is better then the weather we are having and if you have snow enjoy it. hehe

thanks for looking

In the Christmas spirit???

So are you in the Christmas spirit yet? Yes I know Thanksgiving isn't here yet but there are only a few weeks left for Christmas shopping.. hehe I have started going through my Christmas ornaments from last year and remembered I took a few photos of my favorite ones. So dug out those photos and just had to sit down and scrap and I have the most amazing kit that I got in the mail on Monday that was perfect for it. So I sat down and did my thing and I'm so happy that I did because I just love the way the layout turned out. It's a 6x12 layout for my All about me album. (you can click the photo for a larger view)

I just love all these amazing Christmas themed kits in November. It sure helps you get started on mini albums or creating layouts from last years photos and cards for this year.

If you like what you see you can grab this kit at A Kiss on the Chic

Isn't it gorgeous... I just love it. She has a few other kits that you may also enjoy. Her Thanksgiving inspired kit is just amazing as well.

Just a note when using Tim Holtz Crackle paint on Acrylic you must ruff up the spots you are going to be putting it on. The easiest way is to take some sand paper to it. It needs something to grip to. If you do not it will just flake right off.

I hope yall have a safe and fun Halloween and be sure to check your kids candy for any recalled candy...
