Playing with some goodies...

Well so far today my plans that I had didn't turn out so I am scrapping and playing with some goodies that I got in my Purple Cow DT box... That box or I should say boxes were packed with amazing goodies from some amazing sponsors. Today I pulled some product out of that box and was determined to get busy. hehe

Below is a card I created using this weeks 2 sketches 4 you card sketch by Kazan.

Products used:

Purple cows Ultimate Trimmer with Straight Rotary Blade, Perforating Click Blade , Short Wave Click Blade.
Dove of the East India Journey "Royal Mehndi & Cardamon" pattern papers
Dove of the East India Journey "Foreign Accents" clear stamps
Core'dinations Vintage Collection "Starry Night" cardstock
Core'dinations Essentials collection "Dandelion"
Color Box Chalk inks "Black Bird, Pumpkin Spice, Prussian Blue & Aquamarine"
The little shabby box "Rust" lace
Black embossing tape

Step by Step directions:

1. Trim Starry Night cardstock down to 5"x10".
2. Score at 5" and fold in half.
3. Ink the edges of your card with Prussian Blue and then go over it again with Aquamarine.
4. Using the Long wave click blade trim the bottom ends of your card.
5. Cut a strip of Royal Mehndi & Cardamon pattern papers down to 2 1/4"x12".
6. Cut down those strips to 2 1/4"x2 1/4" squares (You will only need 3 squares total).
7. Cut a strip of Core'dinations Dandelion cardstock down to 2 1/4"x12".
8. Cut dandelion strip down to 1 2 1/4"x2 1/4" square.
9. Using the Dove of the East India Journy clear stamps, Stamp with Pumpkin Spice on the Core'dinations square in any pattern you like.
10. Ink the endges of all 4 squares with Blackbird ink once dry adhere them.
11. Tie a bow around the center of the card with lace.
12. Add sentimate with embossing tape.

Clear Scraps New goodies...

I am just in love with all the new Clear Scrap goodies but two of my favorite items is the Cog Chipboard Album and the Clear N Chip Carson's Park. The two of them make an amazing album and using the Scrap Within Reach "Industrial Park" collection You simply can't go wrong.










The new releases are simply amazing and if you visit the Clear Scraps Site you can see the entire new release and I will have more to show this week and you can also view all of the Clear Scraps designers blogs from my sidebar to see all there fab creations. Ad This challenge and photoshop step by step

This weeks Ad at Ad This is a fun one... Challenge ends Saturday July 11th...


The twist this week is to change the color or colors of your photo or photos. Rather it be done in photo shop or by inking, painting, chalking etc.

Here is my take on the ad.


I changed one of my photos to black and white while keeping all of my kido's tongues red.

In photo shop elements here is the step by step.

• Open your photo and go to layer and click on duplicate layer.

• A box will open up asking to save as... You want to save as background copy.

• Making sure your background copy is highlighted to the right you want to click on enhance and then adjust color and then click on remove color.

• In your tool box that should be opened you will see an icon of an eraser. You want to click on the magic eraser and then move over to your photo and click where you want the original color to show through. Keep doing this until your photo is how you want it.

• Once done you need to click on Layer and go down to flatten image.

• Then save it

I also decided to do a digital layout since my computer was out of commission for a few weeks. I found this free "Happy go Lucky" digi kit at Shabby Princess. I also mixed in some embellishments from a free Scrap N Art Victorian kit "You don't say" by Angel Pruitt and a fun digital brush from 2 peas in a bucket Queen of Quirk "Give Freely Accents"

Finally...

Wow I have to say when your computer breaks down I sooooooooo feel your pain... Mine died on me a few weeks ago and I had to get a few things replaced on it etc got it back and it was still not working right so back again it went and I finally got it back yesterday and I am soooooo stoked.. LOL I swear it has been a huge pain in the butt to be without it for so long but that's life and life tends to suck from time to time...

Lots of stuff happend while I was without my comp... lol Michele my stepdaughter moved in with us. So we have been switching rooms and moving kids from one room to another etc... Never any fun but it's been great pruging things and throwing things out. LOL Plus shopping for new beds etc.

Now on to some fun projects I did with the Amazing Altered kit from Serendipity Scrapbooks.


The kit is truly amazing and filled with papers from Prima (Adriane Looman) Hambly and Glitz and embellishments from Basic Grey, Prima and Glitz and the amazing dotted embossed cardstock from Bazzill. Plus the fun album from Bo bunny and more embellishments

Wow...

I can't believe it's been almost a month since I last posted... Sorry about that but May was a busy month and then we had a family thing come up and had to deal with that and my step daughter also came up for a visit and then the modem died and we had to get a new one.. LOL I tell ya when life throws in a glitch it really can knock you out of your normalcy. So getting back into the swing of things... Here are some layouts that I have created with the amazing May kit over at Scrap within Reach.

I am working on some more cards with there amazing stamps that were in the kit... Let me tell ya they are awesome and ink up amazing.... I just simply adored the May kit. It was filled to the rim with papers, cardstock and lots of odds and ends embellishments. There June kit is also amazing. If you haven't checked out there kits yet you need to hop on over to Scrap within Reach and check em out.

Cinco de Mayo & Serendipity May DT work

Today is Cinco de Mayo and like every Cinco de Mayo our house is always smelling yummy... This year the kids and hubby requested tortilla soup. Mmmmm So I cooked the chicken with some yummy Mexican spices and have that all shredded up and now it's on low in the crock pot with green chili's, diced tomatoes, potatoes, corn, cilantro, onions and some other amazing traditional Mexican spices. I made some corn tortillas today and I have them cut up in strips and baking in the oven with a little olive oil and garlic salt on them... They will be served ontop of the soup with some avacodo and some cut up cilantro.. Can you say mmmmmmmmmmm...

Now yall have to check out the kits this month at Serendipity. They are all amazing as usual. This month I worked with the "I deserve it all Kit"

I am having fun working with cards lately. I am not a big card maker so it's a challenge for me, but I am starting to get into my own little grove when it comes to cards not to mention I picked up that Cricut Wild Card cartridge... OMg that cartridge is amazing... A must have for any cricut user or card maker.

Moxxie projects....

I just adore Moxxie's new lines from CHA...

First up we have a quick and easy altered project using papers from the Made from Scratch Collection.

Directions:

• Cut 2 pieces of chipboard down to 4.5x6
  
• Cover your pieces of chipboard with pattern papers, rub-ons and stickers
• Cut out the recipe cards
• using the bind it all. bind your cards and covers and now you have a cute little recipe book that you can give as a gift with some jar recipe's etc.

Next up we have some products from the Mix em up collections. The skater and gamer papers make great boy b-day cards.

My daugther and I

Every time Miranda brings a new friend home from school or we attend a school function and even when we are out shopping which we tend to do a lot people always comment on how much we look a like... I just laugh about it cuz it's funny, but Miranda hates it and really didn't think we looked much alike except for our eyes until we took these photos today.

Now she see's what other people see. LOL Although she has make up on and I don't.lol I still can't believe my baby girl is almost 15... It was a fun little photo shoot and now I have a bunch of photos of her and I together.

Blog Candy....

I came across Debbie's blog from clicking from another blog to another and so on. Have you ever done that before??? I do it pretty often and man the things you come across are pretty amazing. anyway back to the blog candy... "my secret garden" class...

I had so much fun working on this mini fence album from Genuinely Jane Studios for an upcoming class at Lila's Scrapbooking and more located in Everett, WA..

The class will be held on June 6th from 10:30 am-12:30pm. The cost will be $32.00 so if your local to me and want to learn some fun techniques and make this "my secret garden" picket fence album be sure to sign up as soon as you can as the class is limited.



This album is full of Jenni Bowling New products and some amazing vintage items such as flowers, lace, ribbon, buttons and much much more. You will learn why Tim Holtz crackle paint is amazing and a must have and how to make sure it doesn't crackle off of your project. You will also learn and play with crackle accents and Glossy accents and trust me when I say you will fall in love with these products. Come on in to Lila's to see the entire album and sign up for the class.

Here is a very short list of things you will need to bring with you to the class.

• 3-4 photos that are at least 3x3 or smaller
• scissors
• your favorite brown ink pad (we will have a couple for the class to share)
• your favorite adhesive
• trimmer (really not needed unless you will need to trim your photos)
• Be ready to have some fun
  

The rest is supplied by myself. I will also have a couple of fun give aways as I always do in my classes.

Here is a layout I did of a friend I scrap with... Her name is Katri (pronouced like Daughtry) don't ya just love her name... She is so fun to chat and scrap with and I love her down to earth attitude... She was showing me some photos on Monday and I just adored this one and asked if I could scrap it and of course she said yes...

I got my goodie box from Simply handmade which was full of some great stuff, but the magazine is truly amazing... a lot of step by step projects and some totally cute projects...
